Fern Cole is a penname of Kanittha (Fern) Kaewwongsa, a Thai writer based in the northeast of the UK.

 

For some reason, every Thai has a nickname. It's given to us at birth and we just go by that name. (We rarely use our legal names!) Mine is Fern.

Those who know me know that I've been writing since I was fourteen. This year (2025), I decided to follow my dream of writing English books. My first love was a romantasy, and naturally, my first English novel is a romantasy.
​
I finished Thalassian at the end of May. My second one, Starfallen, however, came out first on October 31st. I swapped the releases, mainly because it is set in autumn and it doesn't feel right to me to release an autumn book in spring, and release a spring/summer book like Thalassian in autumn. So, here we are!
